Mihaela Pertea has been named an American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering Fellow

Mihaela Pertea, associate professor of biomedical engineering, assistant professor of medicine in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and a member of the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine, was recognized “for outstanding contributions to computational genomics, including pioneering methods in transcriptome assembly and innovative computational tools for gene annotation.”

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering Fellows honors Michaela and others who have made “outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and innovation in their fields.”
