TEN FOR ONE Goal #10: Develop a new generation of partnerships and programs to support the aspirations of our neighbors and generate economic opportunity for the city of Baltimore and other communities of which we are a part.

One of our abiding institutional priorities is to continue to channel our capabilities into strengthening the city we call home. We will:

HUB Article: HENDERSON-HOPKINS SOLAR PANELS BRING POWER TO EAST BALTIMORE HOMES

Approximately 150 low- to moderate-income households will receive discounts on their electricity bills thanks to new solar panels at the Henderson-Hopkins School.

The Community Affairs and Engagement team falls within JHU’s Government, Community & Economic Partnerships. The team coordinates opportunities for university staff, faculty, and students to volunteer and help elevate and expand Johns Hopkins’ commitment to Baltimore City.

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCY #10: Promoting Diversity and Inclusion

Highlighted Optional Program-Unconscious Bias Training, May 21-22, 2025 (Virtual)

Unconscious or implicit bias refers to the associations that are made between different qualities and social categories such as race, gender or disability and are judgments that are made without conscious awareness. Everyone holds unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups, and these biases stem from one’s tendency to organize social worlds by categorizing.
